Terms of Use
Terms of use for the Lapa mobile app for pet owners.
LAPA TERMS OF USE
April 25, 2026
These Terms of Use (the «Terms») are an agreement between you, a natural person and consumer (referred to below as «you», «user», or «Pet Owner»), and Sole proprietor (Natural Person-Entrepreneur, ФОП) Serhii Halych, taxpayer registration number (РНОКПП) 3607108612, registered at: 70 Starokozatska Street, apartment 70, Dnipro, 49000, Ukraine, doing business under the trade mark LapaHub (referred to below as «we», «us», or «our»).
The Terms govern your use of the Lapa mobile application for pet owners (the «App») and the related features and materials (collectively, the «Service»).
Lapa is a tool for keeping a personal «passport» of your pet: name, species and breed, date of birth, microchip, weight, photographs, history of vaccinations and preventive care, and — with your separate consent — a connection to your pet's medical record at veterinary clinics that use our clinic system.
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree with the Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply only to the consumer Lapa app for pet owners. If you are a veterinary clinic or practitioner and need a clinic information system, please refer to the separate Lapa Clinic Terms of Service.
Questions about the Terms: support@lapahub.com or legal@lapahub.com.

1. Definitions
Capitalised terms used in this document have the following meaning:
- «Account» — your personal account in the App, created via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
- «App» — the Lapa mobile application available for installation on iOS and Android.
- «Pet Owner» or «user» — a natural person aged 16 or older who uses the App to keep records of their pet.
- «Service» — the App and all related features, interfaces, server components, and official LapaHub materials.
- «Partner Clinic» — a veterinary clinic that uses our clinic information system (Lapa Clinic) and whose records may be connected to your account in the manner described in section 4.
- «Pet Data in the App» — the pet profile and records that you create directly in the App (photographs, notes, home reminders for vaccinations and care).
- «Clinic Records» — medical documentation (examinations, diagnoses, prescriptions, lab results, doctor's notes) that the Partner Clinic creates in its own system during your pet's visits; it belongs to the clinic.
- «Privacy Policy» — the Lapa Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of the Terms and is available at lapahub.com.
2. Account registration
2.1. Age requirements
You may use the Service if you are aged 16 or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide about yourself and your pet is accurate.
2.2. Authorisation
Sign-up and sign-in are performed via your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple) or Google account (Sign in with Google). We do not handle your password directly — verification is performed by your chosen identity provider. You may add or verify a mobile phone number in your profile settings — this is optional.
2.3. One account per person
The account is personal; you may not transfer, sell, assign, or share your account with other persons. You are responsible for all actions taken under your account.
2.4. Security
You are responsible for the security of your Apple ID or Google account, as well as for the physical security of the device on which the App is installed. If you suspect unauthorised access, notify us immediately at support@lapahub.com. We may temporarily restrict access to the account if there are reasonable grounds to believe it has been compromised.
3. App features and use
3.1. What you can do in the App
- Create and edit a pet profile: name, species, sex, date of birth, breed, microchip number, sterilisation status, photograph.
- Keep a vaccination and preventive-care history — add records yourself or view those entered by your veterinarian at a Partner Clinic (with your consent).
- Track your pet's weight and its changes over time.
- Receive local reminders about vaccinations and preventive care.
- Approve or deny requests from Partner Clinics to access your pet's medical record.
3.2. Paid features
As of the date of these Terms, the core features of the Service are provided free of charge. We may introduce specific paid features in the future. Any such features will be presented to you together with the applicable payment terms directly in the App, before you make any payment.
3.3. Lapa is not a social network
The App does not provide for public publication or sharing of data between users. Your content is visible only to you and (with your consent) to the Partner Clinic you choose.
3.4. Accuracy of information
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter about yourself and your pet. Records received from Partner Clinics are displayed as the clinics entered them — we do not edit them and cannot independently verify their accuracy.
3.5. Service availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service running continuously, but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We try to provide advance notice of planned maintenance where possible.
4. Connection with veterinary clinics
4.1. How the connection works
If a Partner Clinic already holds a record of your pet in its system (for example, you visited the clinic earlier and the clinic recorded your contact details), the App will notify you of the «discovered» clinic and offer to view those records. Separately, the clinic may send you a request in the App for access to a specific pet's medical record, which you may «Approve» or «Deny».
Connecting to each clinic is voluntary and requires your separate consent. Without your consent, the clinic does not gain access to data in your account.
4.2. What the clinic sees if you approve access
The Partner Clinic only sees the profile of pets for which you confirmed access: basic pet data, vaccination and preventive-care history, weight, photographs. The clinic does not see your other pets and does not gain access to other clinics with which you interact.
4.3. What you see
You see the Clinic Records that concern your pet: visits, diagnoses, prescriptions, lab results. You do not get access to the clinic's internal systems, financial data, data about other clients, or veterinarians' private notes.
4.4. Who owns the Clinic Records
Clinic Records belong to the Partner Clinic itself and form part of its medical documentation. We only display them to you as the pet owner. If you need to correct anything in the Clinic Records, contact the clinic directly.
4.5. Revoking access
You may revoke a clinic's access at any time in the pet profile settings in the App. After revocation, the clinic stops seeing data from your account. The Clinic Records that the clinic has already created remain in its own system, in accordance with its data-retention policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service for its intended purpose and in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. In particular, you may not:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts, servers, databases, or any part of our infrastructure;
- impersonate another person or mislead about the identity of the pet owner;
- upload false or misleading information to a pet profile;
- use the Service to harass, insult, threaten, or otherwise harm other persons, animals, or Partner Clinics;
- interfere with the operation of the Service, overload it with automated requests, or distribute malicious software;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to obtain the App's source code, except where expressly permitted by law;
- use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access the Service without our written consent;
- collect, store, or process personal data of other persons without their consent and a lawful basis;
- reproduce, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the Service.
If we reasonably establish a breach of these restrictions, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account.
6. User content
6.1. What is User Content
«User Content» means photographs of your pet, the pet's name, notes about vaccinations and care, and other information that you enter into the App yourself. User Content remains in your account and is not published to other users. Where you initiate an optional feature that requires processing of your content by an external service provider, the content is transmitted to that provider solely to perform the requested operation, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6.2. Your representations
By uploading User Content, you confirm that:
- you are the author of the content or hold all necessary rights to use it;
- the content does not infringe copyrights, intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of third parties;
- the content does not contain malicious code and does not depict unlawful activity, animal cruelty, or any other content prohibited by law.
6.3. Licence
By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display it to you in the App — solely to provide the Service and only while the content remains in your data. After the content or your account is deleted, this licence terminates; the technical copy in backup archives is overwritten as part of the regular backup cycle.
6.4. Content removal by us
We may remove User Content that, in our reasonable judgement, breaches these Terms or applicable law. Where possible, we will notify you of such removal and explain the reason.
7. Intellectual property
7.1. Our rights
The Service, its software code, design, interface, graphics, texts, logos, and the «Lapa» and «LapaHub» trademarks belong to Sole proprietor Serhii Halych or his licensors and are protected by Ukrainian intellectual-property law.
7.2. Licence we grant to you
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on a device that you own or are entitled to use, solely for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
- modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App;
- distribute, sell, lease, transfer, or sublicense the App to third parties;
- remove or alter copyright notices or other notices of rights;
- use the App for commercial purposes or for the benefit of third parties.
7.3. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right to use them to improve the Service, with no additional obligations to you.
8. Communications and notifications
8.1. Messages we send
- Push notifications in the App about reminders for vaccinations and preventive care.
- Push notifications about events in the App: an access request from a Partner Clinic, updates to your pet's medical chart, technical announcements.
- Emails to the address you sign in with — only for material reasons (significant changes to the Terms or Privacy Policy, account-security matters, replies to your enquiries).
8.2. Nature of the messages
All messages we send are service messages sent in performance of our contract with you or to comply with the law. We do not send you advertising or marketing messages without your separate consent.
8.3. Managing notifications
You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's operating system settings. We reserve the right to send certain categories of service communications (about account security, material changes) by electronic means in order to fulfil our obligations to you.
9. Disclaimer of veterinary advice
Lapa is an information-keeping tool, not a veterinary care service. The Service does not provide medical advice, does not establish diagnoses, and does not prescribe treatment.
No information shown in the App — entered by you, received from a Partner Clinic, or generated by the Service (for example, vaccination reminders calculated from your vaccination history) — replaces an in-person consultation with a qualified veterinarian.
For any questions about your pet's health, always consult a veterinarian. Do not delay an in-person visit because of information in the App. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on data in the App.
10. Limitation of liability
10.1. The Service is provided «as is»
The Service is provided on an «as is» and «as available» basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not provide any express or implied warranties as to uninterrupted operation of the Service, the absence of errors, or the completeness or accuracy of data received from Partner Clinics.
10.2. Limits of liability
To the extent permitted by the laws of Ukraine, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or other consequences arising from:
- use of, or inability to use, the Service;
- inaccuracies in Clinic Records or other data displayed in the App;
- unauthorised access to your account through circumstances beyond our control (in particular, loss of control over your Apple ID or Google account, loss of the device);
- temporary unavailability or termination of the Service;
- decisions you make based on information shown in the App;
- acts or omissions of Partner Clinics.
10.3. Consumer rights
Nothing in this section limits your mandatory rights under the Law of Ukraine «On the Protection of Consumer Rights» and other Ukrainian legislation that may not be limited by contract. To the extent that liability cannot be excluded, we are liable only for documented actual losses caused by our culpable acts or omissions.
11. Termination and account deletion
11.1. Account deletion by you
You may delete your account at any time directly in the App («Settings» → «Delete account») or by sending a request to support@lapahub.com.
11.2. Suspension or termination by us
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Service, with prior notice, if we reasonably establish that:
- you have breached these Terms or Ukrainian law;
- the account is being used for fraudulent or unlawful purposes;
- continued provision of the Service threatens the security of its infrastructure or other users;
- this is required by law or by a lawful decision of an authorised public authority.
In the event of an obvious security threat we may act without prior notice; otherwise we will give you a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach.
11.3. Consequences of termination
- your access to the Service ends;
- User Content and pet profiles are removed from primary systems; backup copies are overwritten as part of the regular backup cycle;
- the access you have granted to Partner Clinics is automatically revoked;
- Clinic Records that Partner Clinics have created in their own systems are not affected — the clinic's policy applies to them;
- provisions of the Terms that by their nature should survive (in particular sections 6.3, 7, 9, 10, and 13) remain in force.
11.4. Service discontinuation
We reserve the right to discontinue the Service in whole or in part at any time. We use reasonable efforts to provide advance notice where practicable and to give you the opportunity to export your data.
12. Modifications to the Terms
We may amend these Terms. The version date is shown at the top of the document. If the changes are material (new features that require your consent; new categories of processed data; a change of legal successor, etc.), we will notify you in advance — by push notification in the App and/or by email to the address associated with your account.
Changes take effect on the date stated in the notice. Changes that fix obvious errors or address urgent security matters may take effect immediately.
By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated version. If you do not agree to the changes, you may stop using the Service and delete your account in accordance with section 11.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
13.1. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the substantive law of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
13.2. Pre-court resolution
If a dispute arises, the parties undertake first to attempt to resolve it through good-faith negotiations. Submissions are sent to legal@lapahub.com with a description of the substance of the claim. We respond within 30 days.
13.3. Jurisdiction
If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiations, it is to be heard by a competent court of Ukraine in accordance with the rules of jurisdiction of Ukrainian procedural law, including the rules of the Law of Ukraine «On the Protection of Consumer Rights» concerning the consumer's choice of court.
13.4. Consumer protection
Nothing in these Terms deprives you of the right to apply to authorised consumer-protection bodies, to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (on personal-data matters), or to a court. Contacts are listed in section 14 and in the Privacy Policy.
